India registered its 500th ODI victory against Australia. The spin-friendly pitch of Nagpur goes in favor to the Indian bowlers to knock down Aussies for an 8-run win.

India entered the 2nd ODI with no changes to the playing XI squad. Australia had two changes with spinners Marsh, Nathan Lyon on screen and Turner, Behrendorff missing out.

Australia won the toss and opted to field. Rohit and Dhawan opened the batting for India, and Pat Cummins came to bowl the first over of the match from Australia. India started with a poor performance, Rohit Sharma moving off for a duck at Home for the first time in ODI format. The Indian players Dhawan (21), Rayudu (18), Shankar (46), Kedar Jadhav (11), Dhoni (0), Jadeja (21), Kohli (116), Yadav (3), Bumrah (0) and Shami (2*) started falling under the counterattacks of Australia. Fans also saw few eye-pleasing strokes like Virat Kohli’s 40th ODI hundred and Ravindra Jadeja’s 2000 ODI runs. The extremely impressive bowling spell of spinner Pat Cummins (4/29) helped Australia bowl all out in Team India for 250runs.

Australia started its battle in the challenging pitch with Aaron Finch and Khawaja chasing the target of 251 runs. Mohammed Shami initiated the bowling strike for India. Stoinis gave the top-score of 52 runs from the Australian side. Though India has lost its entire wickets from the batting side, the bowlers never gave another chance of defeat. Bumrah (2/29), Kuldeep (3/54), Vijay Shankar (2/15) helped India bowl Australia all out for 242 runs in 49.3 overs. India gave their fans a heart-stopping climax with pacer Shankar knocking the last two Aussie batsmen off the pitch. What an exciting match, Team India secured their 500th ODI victory.
