England is all set to gain a spot in the semi-finals after two comprehensive wins and a margin of 106 runs. Afghanistan is yet to find their place as they collapsed 69 / 2 against South Africa and by the 35th over were 125 all out. Even in the warm-up match, Afghanistan fell as England chased 161 and finished it in 17.3 overs at the Kennington Oval, London. Will there be a repeat performance? Watch both the teams play against each other once again, today the 18th of June 2019 at 3:00 PM IST at Old Trafford Manchester.

In the last game, Jason Roy pulled a hamstring and did not play, and it is said that he is out for the next two matches as well. The backup opener in his place is James Vince. Eoin Morgan has a back spasm and his health is a cause of concern. If Morgan does not play Moeen Ali could be brought in. But Ali may replace Mark Wood too. Again with Plunkett’s illness, there could be some changes in the lineup – only in the last minute.

Probable Playing XI

James Vince, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood/Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid

Najibullah Zadran is all set to come back and so far, is also their leading run scorer. If that were true, then he would replace Asghar Afghan who did not manage to score anything against Proteas. Hazratullah Zazai is expected to remain consistent too if the game has to go through in favor of the Afghans.

Probable Playing XI

HazratullahZazai, Noor Ali Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Asghar Afghan, Gulbadin Naib, Mohammad Nabi, Ikram Alikhil , Rashid Khan, Aftab Alam, Hamid Hassan

There are no rain spoiler alerts for today’s game, which is pleasing for both fans and players. Though the weather is expected to be cloudy, there is not going to be a downpour. The India-Pakistan match before this one was on the very pitch and same track can be expected even now. It is a very helpful strip for spinners such as Rashid Khan. After winning the toss, the teams might look to bat first.
